BB Essentials: Dry Shampoo

November 10, 2015

Hey Babes, Happy Tuesday!

Hope your weekend was amazing.

So, i’m going to talk about a problem that most blondes (dyed especially, but natural too) know all too well…..GREASY LOOKING ROOTS!!

I know, it’s a struggle.

For those of you who aren’t blonde, when your hair is dyed or is a light color, grease and oil shows up VERY easily.

Especially with dyed blonde hair. I mean, everytime your roots start to show, you look like you haven’t washed your hair in a week.

It also sucks when you put too much moroccan oil or coconut oil in your hair and it comes up a gross, stringy mess.

And you can’t possibly wear it like that, so you have two options… it, or put it up in a bun.

Side note: frizz also shows up super easy on blondes… fun being blonde

Anyway. If any of you know me, you know I onyl wash my hair about once a week. Before any of you comment on how gross that is, keep in mind that your hair needs to preserve its natural oils and washing every day is not healthy for your hair. Also, I don’t live a super dirty life. I don’t sweat that much and I don’t do anything where I am rolling my hair around in dirt.

Anyway, I only wash my hair once a week, but when I work out or just towards the end of the week, my roots start to get a little oily and it can look pretty gross so, introducing…….

Yes, my secret weapon is dry shampoo.

I spray it on my roots and just around my head sometimes if my roots are looking kinda greasy or if I have just worked out.

It brings my hair back to life. It brings back volume and it sucks up all of the oil that may be in my hair.

The two in the picture are my favorites. The first one is inexpensive and it gets the job done. The second one is my ABSOLUTE favorite because it has a blonde tinge to it, so it doesn’t appear white in my hair and even coneals my roots a little bit.

Dry shampoo is perfect for those girls who don’t wash their hair often, or just want to prolong that blowout you jsut LOVE so much (yeah, I know that feeling)

I use dry shampoo probably twice a week (depending on how my hair is feeling). Sometimes, my hair is feeling good and I dont need to use it the entire week, but sometimes my hair is being difficult and I need to use it every other day. It depends.

Let me know if you guys want me to post about frizzy blonde hair and my tricks for that.

My next post will come out on Friday, as per usual.

Hope you all have a great rest of the week!

I adore Not Your Mothers’ dry shampoo! I use it whenever I am on the go and don’t have time to hop in the shower/take a bath, or when my hair looks like it needs it.

It’s the best! We all have those days when the hair’s just not working with us. Drybar’s is also amazing! Here’s the link for that, if you wanna check it out!
