That’s some basic information on the festival, but let’s get some more details from yours truly (ME!!!)

On the festival scale, this one was definitely a 10, in terms of atmosphere. Sun shining, music pulsing, people dancing. Really, a festival-goers dream. The people were amazing! It was like, for that weekend, everyone accepted each other and just enjoyed the music. If this festival had to sum itself up in one word, it should be freedom. Everyone was free and having fun. It was so awesome being in a place so…well, serene. I know it may sound kind of weird thinking a loud, EDM, music festival is peaceful and serene, but it was. Literally, you could bring out streamers and dance around in the middle of the field, if you wanted to. No one was going to judge you. It was a very safe and nonjudgmental place to spend a weekend.

Let me just say, Moonrise did an AMAZING job with their line up. I went to several sets, and every single one was awesome. A few did stick in my head. Patrick Baker was super awesome. If you don’t know who he is, check his music out HERE. I think he really stuck with me because he played guitar during his set, and you don’t see that a lot at EDM festivals. It’s mostly about the bass and turntables. It was refreshing and interesting. I also really liked Yellow Claw. They had a more classic EDM feel to their set. LOTS of intense bass drops (check them out HERE). Another one I really loved was Anna Lunoe. She is a DJ, vocalist, songwriter, and producer. I really love artists who multitask during performances (like play the drums and sing, or use turntables and play the guitar). She also brought a really fun energy with her. She was dancing and jumping around the whole set. It was really entertaining and fun to watch (check her out HERE). Of course, the all star artists were incredible as well. ZEDD, The Chainsmokers, Tiesto, etc, were all fantastic.

So, as much as I love eating healthy food, I absolutely ADORE carnival and fair food. There was no shortage of this at Moonrise. There were also a lot of options, when it came to food. They had everything from hamburgers to snowballs. They also had a Rita’s truck there (I literally died when I saw it). Also, I was happily surprised that they had gluten-free options. I can’t tell you how many times I have gone to a fair or festival and couldn’t eat anything because everything has gluten in it. It was SOOOO nice to be able to eat fair food, without the upset stomach that comes with eating something with gluten in it when you are gluten-intolerant.

Besides the music and the food, there was so much more to do! There was a ferris wheel, a cool-looking planetarium, a misting tent (where you could cool off from the 95 degree weather outside), and marble painting stations. Okay, marble painting is where you can get colors painted on your body in a marble pattern and it looks really cool. I didn’t get this done, but I saw other who did and it really looked amazing!

Overall, this festival was pretty great! It had amazing music, great food, fun atmosphere, and so many awesome things to do. I definitely recommend attending this festival, just to have a weekend filled with fun and good music. Go with friends and just dance around all day. It’s a blast!
