Oil Pulling: What’s the Deal? (feat. Cocowhite)

July 12, 2016

Hey there Babes!

So, if you’ve been paying attention to recent trends, you’ve probably heard talk of oil pulling

What is oil pulling, you ask?

Oil pulling is when you swish oil (most use coconut oil or sesame oil) in your mouth.

Why is this a trend? Because it has some AMAZING benefits.

Benefit #1: Pearlier Whites!

Oil pulling cleans and whitens your teeth. Say goodbye to bad breath and yellow-tinted teeth. Oil has antibacterial and antiviral properties that brighten and clear bacteria, making for a pearl-white smile!

Benefit #2: Detoxing!

We drink detox tea to get rid of toxins in our bodies, right? How about getting rid of the toxins, before they even make it into the body? Our mouths are the gateway for toxins introduced into our bodies. Germs and bacteria can lead to inflammation and toxin buildup. Oil pulling reduces toxins in the mouth, eliminating them before they spread further into the body.

Benefit #3: Headaches, Be Gone!

Toxins cause bodily stress, which can result in headaches. Getting rid of these toxins and eliminating the bacteria can reduce any future headaches.

Benefit #4: Hello, Clear Skin!

We all know bacteria buildup can cause acne. Bacteria, or toxins introduced orally, can make it into our bloodstream and lead to skin rashes and acne. Oil pulling reduces and eliminates bacteria, resulting in less bacteria being introduced to the bloodstream. This may aid in skin clearing efforts.

Okay, so you’re hearing about all of these benefits, but are they actually true?

I tried Cocowhite, a brand that sells flavored, oil-pulling packets. I purchased the two-week supply of mint-flavored, coconut oil, oil-pulling solution. ( You can find the package I got HERE )

Side Note: You can also use regular coconut oil

After two weeks, I have DEFINITELY noticed a difference!

My teeth are whiter. I have definitely had more energy, possibly from the detoxing effects of the whole process. My skin has also gotten clearer.

I LOVED the mint flavored solution I got. It makes it a lot easier to swish the oil around in my mouth (it can be a little nasty tasting, sometimes)

So, if you’ve been DYING to try oil pulling, I definitely recommend Cocowhite!

My personal opinion…oil pulling is the sh*t!
