So this is my first post on my updated blog (so excited about this)
Just a few little things I wanna say before I get into the post.
I want to apologize for not posting for TWO WEEKS! I know that’s a crazy long time, but I did have a reason. The update took a lot longer than I thought it would.
My theme also would not install properly, until the nice people from Sculpture Quode installed it for me (shoutout to them because my blog would look TERRIBLE if it wasn’t for them).
Anyways, even though it got kind of complicated, I managed to get the whole thing (social media and all) up and running. I also was able to redirect everything from my old site to the new one relatively easily.
Alrighty, let’s get onto the post……
This post will be about my makeup bag (which is basically the makeup I, usually, use everyday and also carry in my purse)
So, keep in mind that my makeup personality ranges from the whole shebang (like foundation, eyeliner, everything)….
to none (okay, so none means only mascara for me because I would look DEAD without mascara….like zombie-who-just-rose-from-the-grave DEAD)
Here’s my makeup bag
Alright, let’s get into what’s in it.
Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2014 Makeup Bag: Okay, so I got this in 2014 when the VS Fashion Show stuff was on sale. It came in a set of three and it was, honestly, the best purchase of my life. I use all three makeup bags all of the time (big one for travel, medium one for makeup, and little one for small necessities). This one is the perfect size and is so pretty. I found the exact set for you guys on Amazon, but they come out with a new one every year. I like this one because it’s durable, simple, and pretty.
Okay, now that i’ve talked about the bag, let’s talk about the makeup inside it.
NARS Sheer Glow Foundation (in Mont Blanc): This is my absolute favorite foundation. I’ve tried SO MANY different foundations and I think i’ve come back to this one like three times. It’s really lightweight and provides the perfect amount of coverage, for me. Even if you’re looking for a full coverage foundation, you can build this one to full coverage. It’s also the only foundation i’ve found that doesn’t make me break out and is light enough for my PALE AS ANYTHING skin (like literally, Ivory is too dark for me). I put it on with a Kabuki Brush (couldn’t find mine, but here’s a similar one).
Fun Fact: if you ever need any makeup tips or reccomendations for pale skin, leave a comment or email me and I will send you a list (I have literally tried EVERYTHING)
Yves Saint Laurent Radiant Touch Pen (#2): This pen is my SAVIOR!! I have been using this since I was 15. It’s a luminizing pen that erases dark circles, like literally ERASES them. I have used other concealers to try to conceal my undereye circles (or just after a particularly long night) and none have worked as well as this does. I know it’s expensive, but I only need to buy it like once or twice a year and it’s COMPLETELY worth it (I use mine sparingly). I look dead without it.
Urban Decay Eye Primer (Original): I don’t really wear that much eyeshadow or eyeliner, but I still love this and wear it everyday. Let me tell you why. You know that oily look you get on your eyelids halfway through the day? Well, I do and I HATE it! I rub this on my eyelids before I go out and it makes them matte all day. (p.s. it also keeps my undereye concealer ffrom fading or settling in the creases)
Rimmel London Wonderlash Masacara (Black): I’ve never been one to stick to a mascara. I have floated everywhere between Benefit to Maybelline. I found this one a few months ago and I LOVE it! It caught my attention because it has Argan Oil in it (which helps your lashes grow and keep them healthy). The oil also prevents clumps. This masacara makes my eyes pop and my lashes look longer without clumping or feeling crinkly (yeah, we all know that crinkly eyelash feeling…GROSS!)
Urban Decay Complextion Prep Spray: This is a spray that absorbs oil, minimizes pores, and reduces redness. Apparently, you’re SUPPOSED to put it on before makeup, but i’ve been using it for two years and I NEVER did that. I put it on after my makeup to keep my skin from getting oily throughout the day. It also keeps my makeup ffrom fading.
Visine Redness Reliever Eye Drops: So, I have pretty bad allergies sometimes (like it looks like i’m crying). My eyes get so itchy and red and it’s really uncomfortable. These eye drops are perfect for me. They also relieve redness from crying and irritation from dry weather. It’s not really makeup, but it helps me look good so……
Beauty Protector Protect and Detangle Spray: This isn’t really makeup either, but I carry it with me EVERYWHERE!! I got it in my August Birchbox (let me know if you want a post on birchbox) and it is AMAZING. It is a natural detangeler that also protects our hair from UV rays. If you know me or have read any of my other posts, you know that I am TERRIFIED of UV rays. This ensures my hair and scalp is protected (ever heard of scalp burn?….it exists and it f*cking sucks!)
Alright, that’s everything I carry with me in my makeup bag all the time. These are things that I literally could not live without.
Now, keep in mind that just becasue these products work for me doesn’t mean they will work for you. Try them out first.
I, also, don’t wear makeup everyday (who has time for that). When I don’t, my skin looks fine because I take care of it (let me know if you want a post on my skin care regime). The first step to beautiful skin is to take care of it from the inside out.
Just because I tell you that I wear makeup, that doesn’t mean I don’t think natural beauty doesn’t exist.
Everyone is beautiful, no matter if you’re wearing makeup or not (I will also be doing a post about natural beauty soon)
That’s all for today. Like I said in my last post, I will be posting two posts per week, starting Monday.
What’s in your makeup bag? Do we share any favorite products? Did I miss something awesome? Let me know in the comments?
I love hearing from you guys!
